WebSir John A Macdonald won the 1891 Canadian General Election and started his sixth term as Prime Minister. However he then suffered a severe stroke, and died a week later on 6 June 1891. His state funeral was held on 9 June, and he is buried in Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston, Ontario.
